Bremen University campus, with its strong marine science focus, includes the clusters Center for Marine Environmental Sciences (MARUM) and Bremen Marine Ecology (BreMarE). This is supplemented by several world-class marine research institutions such as the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology and the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, creating a multi-dimensional research hub. Many scientists from these institutions are actively involved in coral-reef related work and act as members in the ICRS 2022 organisation committee.
