Welcome to the registration for the 15th ICRS 2022

Our goal is to enable the entire coral reef community to participate in the 15th International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS), either onsite in Bremen or online via the virtual conference platform. Registration fees range from EUR 195 to EUR 830.

To make your ICRS 2022 participation as pleasant as possible, we have included a range of benefits in our congress packages. We also offer discounts for members of the International Coral Reef Society (ICRS) and those, who actively participated in the 14th ICRS 2021 Virtual.

Participants who travel to Bremen will be able to benefit from significantly lower hotel accommodation costs compared to many previous ICRS events. You can choose from a variety of hotels that offer a wide range of prices and ratings. There are contingents exclusively reserved for ICRS participants in a number of local hotels available. You can easily book your hotel during the registration process. In addition, Bremen also offers various alternative budget accommodation options.

Due to the postponement and changes in conference format as well as abstract submission, the registration process has become rather complex. Thus, please read the following information regarding the abstract management and registration very carefully.

The 15th ICRS: An onsite event with online components

The onsite symposium will take place in Bremen. Participants can join the opening and closing ceremony, all plenaries, sessions and workshops, the Icebreaker on Sunday and ICRS Night (conference dinner) on Thursday. Via the virtual platform, opening and closing ceremony as well as all plenaries will be available as live stream. All onsite participants can voluntarily (though highly encouraged) upload their presentations to the virtual platform. Together with presentations uploaded by online participants they can be accessed via the archive up to one year after the symposium.

The online components of ICRS 2022 can be accessed via the virtual platform. Via this platform, participants can watch live streams of the opening and closing ceremony as well as all plenaries. All these events will also be available as video to watch later through the conference archive on the virtual platform. Online participants with an accepted abstract can upload their oral and poster presentation to the platform and browse those of other online participants as well as those of onsite participants, who uploaded their presentations. It is possible to exchange with presenters via the chat options related to each poster and oral presentation on the virtual platform.

Covid-19

The situation regarding COVID-19 remains dynamic. As of today, we cannot foresee the regulations in effect in Summer 2022, but we are optimistic that we can offer the 15th ICRS as an onsite event. We do however keep in mind the worst-case scenario of having to cancel the onsite event. In this scenario, we will host an entirely online ICRS 2022, similar to the ICRS 2021. This of course also means that all participants will automatically be booked in their corresponding online registration category, free of charge. Any differences in fees will be reimbursed.

Please check with the Federal Foreign Office for entry and quarantine regulations and with the Federal Ministry of Health for current information for travellers.
